If you exceed your scope of responsibility and authority, even with the best of intentions, you may be opening the institution to legal action.

Don't give support, advice, or counsel, seek the representative they need from the org chart and introduce them to that representative who will further guide them, ensuring proper accommodation, attention, and service.

Asking up front and transparent questions regarding whether a student or potential student need accommodations ensures equal access for all to thrive and learn. Universal design strives for equal inclusion in everyday life for all people, including those with disabilities. As admissions, we play a key role in helping Ogle meet compliance ensuring fairness and equality benefits everyone.

See past the disability and understand that everyone deserves to be treated fairly. Disabilities vary from seen to unseen and regardless of the obstacles some individuals may face, we all have the right to success, support and accommodation.

Not all disabilities are seen, and many are invisible to us when in public or at work / school. It's important to make sure everyone has equal access to a higher education and facilities that allow them to be an integrated part of the community and society.

A culture of compliance brings the best possible opportunity for students to achieve their goals in the beauty industry and succeed far into their future due to a stable foundation.

To help avoid the consequences of noncompliance it is recommended that faculty and staff participate in training activities, review their institution's intranet, and read and understand their school’s policy and procedure manuals and handbooks.

It is also important to become familiar with the Administrative Code for your state.

If any representation you employ in characterizing your school is subject to measurement (percentage, grade, frequency, level, statistic, etc.) it is important to know that metric, understand it, and use it rather than an approximation—or refer the student to a colleague who would have that specific information at hand. This rule applies to all outcomes that are measured and reported by your school without exception.

Know the facts and provide concise information regarding the school's success rate and official statements.

Know the catalogue and enrollment agreement, be transparent to allow the most robust educational ecosystem for the student to thrive.

This is a continuation of compliance and culture of compliance.

Bottom line, the primary roles of a state regulatory board and/or agency are to provide authorization for schools to operate and to ensure that the schools under its charge are compliant with the standards set by state law.
