Although every class/situation is different, I believe Asynchronous Learning may be the best avenue to take with virtual classes. I do believe that there is a time/place for synchronous learning.
There are many tools available to utilize in the virtual learning environment, however, what I used needs to promote learning not inhibit it.
Create lesson plans, an effective learning environment, be prepared, and vary my teaching methods to meet the needs of the students.
Be open and honest with the students. Ensure that everything is clearly explained and that the students completely understand the expectations.
Preparation is key to the success of the instructional day.
Set the example for the students to follow.

Career Ed Lounge is embedded in over eighty professional development portals serving the career and technical education community. Performance Groups in the Lounge are integrated with related learning opportunities offered on these portals. With a few exceptions, Performance Groups are also publicly available to any member of the Lounge to maximize peer-to-peer learning and performance outcomes.
