Being Prepared for meeting the class for the first time
Its always been the most important part of our work to do the prep work before the classes get started (lesson plans, text review) but the most significant part of being prepared is that it allows you to genuinely connect with the students making the focus about the them and learning.
This is the most crucial part of my job because I'm not in the class with the students so this allows me the chance to get to know the students. I learned alot from this objective that I will change when I'm doing my meetings from now on.
LaTunija,
I wish you continued success in your externship program. By getting to know them up front you are able to make a connection with them that will last throughout the externship.

I like to be prepared for any meeting, business, social or otherwise. Having pre-class work outlined and ready to teach is a task that I will happily complete.
Cliff,
I like to have this same approach to my responsibilities. I can relax and enjoy the experience because I know I am ready for the meeting, class, seminar, etc.. Good point about the value of being prepared.

I agree. Students are also able to sense when an instructor is prepared and this makes them feel more focused and enthusiastic about a class.
