Jeopardy review
I have been trying this game for review at the mid term and final and it always bring smile, excitment and sometime dance in the mix. The students are egar to answer and can't wait for the next question. They work in groups and must come up with one answer which always makes them reason their response better.
I really like the idea of having students work in groups also because I think it would force them to not only listen to one another but think about the responses more before answering. I think Jeopardy review is a great idea!

I use this method for review as well. It not only gets the students excited to participate, but it also enables them to focus and study in preparation for the exam.
I agree , Nancy gave me the idea all the way back two years ago and I have been using it ever since. It never fails to excite the students and get them all geared up.
I am considering having the students create a game like Jeopardy for a project. The students would write the questions and answers. The day it is due, they would play the game.
Hi Carol!
I have done this and students love it. I go to the dollar store and make sure that I have prizes for the winners and the losers - since I believe everyone in school is a winner.
Keep up the good work!

I use the jeopardy game before we take a test and it does engage the students into a focus mode and always ends up with good results .
The jeopardy game works great for the students for reveiw. We use it not only for midterm/final review but all topics. It get the studnets up nad involved in their learning.
I used a jeopardy game once and we accidently kept choosing the same question.. However, the students never missed the question on any of the subsequent tests. Repetition Rocks. :)
Hi Dee!
I, too, have had VERY good outcomes with Jeopardy as a review for exams.
Keep up the good work!

Pamela I had to chuckle about "repetition rocks"! It is so true though.
How did it happen that the same question was continuously chosen?
Keep up the good work!

I really like the Jeopardy review because students are engaged.
I use it for my math classes. This allows students who have developed a fear of math to let down their guard.
Using games for review works very well from my experience, because it tends to make the students study the material so that the will do well during the game. The positive outcome is that they tend to retain the information better and the test scores reflect this.
I have found that the Jeopardy review has helped my students tremendously! They have fun while learning the difficult subject of Medical Terminology. I found the games and game cards in my Instructor Manual Resource. Very useful and effective!!!
I appreciate this approach as well as it also helps to keep the material I cover in class fresh since I'm always building and developing new questions. It also gives me a head-start in developing quizzes and more lenghty exams. The constant reviewing of material keeps me interested as well and allows me to re-focus curriculum term-over-term tweaking my delivery and keeping things moving as well as interesting.
Hi Rennie!
The Jeopardy review is a great and fun tool to use with students. Instructors can be very creative in developing other review activities. They can even be very child like as long as they are fun and interactive, students really get excited and engaged.
Keep up the good work!

I've found that the Jeopardy reviews get over-used a bit at this campus. I don't use it because so many other instructors do. I can see and understand the value in it though.
I have used Jeopardy for review as well. I teach accounting and it can be quite dry at times. Using Jeopardy allows the students to work in teams (especially useful for the quiet students) and engages them in the material. They are focused and having fun. I have found it to be a very effective tool.
I too use the Jeopardy game. The students love this game. It makes them work in groups and it is a great way to review.
