Learning disabilities.
I am very interested in working with people that need additional help. Mostly due to the fact that I have had a couple students that are dyslexic and sometimes they need additional help. Any pointers would be greatly appreciated.
Wendy,
often a quick & easier way to help these students is allowing them more time to complete in class work.

Testing needs to be done away from distractions. Even a dropping pencil can de-rail a student. Consider oral instead of written exams. Teach in non-written formats. Talk, act, draw. Move away from teaching with only letters, use sounds, colors, textures. People with visual processing disorders, such as dyslexia, learn to aquire information by different means. You can help by using non-written formats for teaching.
