Thinking
Wow, what a word. THINK! It is my motto. I raised my son with a plaque on his door saying this. Using the brain is the most important thing anyone can do.
In my classroom I am always challenging my students to think. I give them a scenario and they have to come up with a solution. They cannot just be passive
and not become engaged in the subject matter. The results are satisfying.
Phyllis,
Right on! Passive learning is not the way to support the growth and success of our students. They have to be able to THINK and problem solve no matter what career area they enter.

Thinking is a mindset that has a big part in your out come. Thinking is the power behind all choices, and ideas.
Hello Phyllis,
I agree. I have a 98 year old grandfather that is sharp as a tack. I think that his constant use of his brain to solve mostly calculi’s problems day in and day out contributes to his mental health.
Awesome motto! This is the most important thing that is unfortunately lost in the shuffle of lecture sometimes. Just taking time to give the students a moment to think independently has great outcomes most times.
Kodee,
I agree and it is something we need to program into our own thinking and delivery in the classroom.
