How do you feel about tests with a variety of questions? Address all learning styles?
I agree whole heartedly that tests need to be changed out regularly. We administer tests regularly and the information is bound to get out to classes that are in succession. I have found out through experience that if tests are not guarded and changed the test loses validity after some time.
Great questions Mark! The ideal frequency of changing out tests depends on how you give students exam feedback. If you hand exams back to students to keep after grading, then tests need to be changed out regularly. If instead you collect exams after students have had a chance to review their grades, you can get away with not changing them out as often.
Study guides do work great when you want to focus students in on specific course content.
