Finding time to exercise not only helps your body but also your mind. It's hard when you are stressed out to make time for exercise but the benefits are huge!
Denise, So true! Many of my students report that it's a lot easier to sleep when they have proper exercise during the day.

definitely I have the same in common wtih many here. I need to add exercise to my routine to deal with the stress and to keep me healthy.
Exercise, talking with colleagues are two ways that I cope with stress. Also, getting plenty of rest always helps me with coping with my stress.
I am going to start making lists and asking the suggested questions per item on the list. I am going to start breathing exercises as well as yoga every evening.
sleep is how i handle stress
Kimberly, That sounds like a healthy plan, but also one that requires a few changes to the way you usually do things. I might recommend starting slow with just one change and working your way up from there.

Jennifer, There are a lot of us who experience the same kinds of challenges when managing stress. This is why reaching out and connecting with others like us, to share common experiences, is often a great approach.

I routinely use exercise and venting with a friend. Walking makes me feel better. It really helps me eliminate the stress in my body. As far as mental stress, I talk to a friend. Just vocalizing my problems helps relieve my stress.
Communicating with other instructor, for helpful tips. Also, talking to relatives regarding personal problems, they may have a different approach toward my problem.
To keep searching for better ways to improve my life and have less stress.

I have a hard time dealing with the stress of having 3 young children at home. sometimes I feel stressed about going home from work not coming to work. I try and focus on the great things about them that makes me love them so much. sometimes I think about the funny thing one of them did the other day and it helps relieve stress from work just by taking my mind off of the issue for a few min
Exercise would greatly benefit my stress levels as well as physically. It provides a therapeutic time in which I can really think about the stressor(s) currently in my life and courses of action to reduce them. The exercise itself helps to reduce them.
Jeffery, It sounds like you know what to do. The next step is getting there. Easier said than done of course. I always recommend starting small and working your way up. Just try to exercise one or two times per week to start and see what comes of it. Grow your routine from there as you experience the positive benefits.

Jerrod, These are two wonderful approaches to managing stress and I can see how they work well for you. I particularly appreciate your transition from the save everyone approach. While at the onset, it can seem altruistic. However, the reality is when we try to help everyone, we often find that we help no one.

Cynthia, It sounds like you have several healthy outlets to rely on. This is wonderful to hear. It's good to diversify your coping mechanisms so if one falls through, you have the others to rely on.

Yolanda, These are great approaches. I love connecting with fellow instructors to learn more about how they approach their work. My fellow instructors are often a wealth of information and best practices that help me optimize my own approach.
