challenging students
When students show passive aggression it is difficult to avoid reacting to their challenging behaviors. In these situations I try to remember that their behaviors are often not about me, rather they are about something going on with the student.
Students often bring issues when they apply to the school, they just do not reveal the problems until after enrollment. Try to be sympathetic to some issues to help the student learn and stay in school. Other issues, sometimes, are not the responsibility of the instructor.
