Excellent Ideas
I really like the idea of using the Nerf ball to learn. I teach in the evenings so anything that I can do to get adult learners (safely) engaged and participating is a definite plus!
I think any of the activities which require the learners to get up out of their seats will be a hit...I also teach in the evenings and most of my learners have either been in class all day, or they are just getting off work. This movement will kind of keep the blood flowing and therefore help them to be more in focus.
I could not agree more!! Teaching in the evening is hard enough, but these types of games which require interaction among their peers and alertness will help them not only retain information but also remain alert throughout the class!
James, evening classes can be the biggest challenge in engaging learners who have multiple demands in their lives as you describe.

I am not currently teaching evening classes but I have in the past and I agree that it is difficult at best. These ideas are great because it gets them moving and having fun while learning. These learning tools will be great to add to my morning classes.
Rhonda, I'm very glad you can see application of content to your classes.

Great ideas..my only problem is the amount of material I have to teach in such a short time, but I will definetly use some of these ideas in class.
I really like this idea, however would like to know how can you make up the most time on this activities, when your time is limited with the amount of material to be reached?
All of these games seem very useful. I am excited about trying to implement them all into my course and adding my own twist on them.
Activities such as these do seem to keep learners engaged, as well as add some fun to the classroom.
Gordon, they do add energy, engagement and reinforcement of the content. Thanks for sharing your thoughts!

I strongly agree, since so many students say that they are hands on learners. These types of activities give students the opportunity to learn while also being physically engaged. I think this can work even with the withdrawn and resistant students.
Toni, it does work with the withdrawn ans resistant students if all member of the class are up and involved in an activity that teaches them critical content.

I agree, getting the class up and involved will be an awesome way to really get them involved and the info to stick
