For teaching veterinary technology, we use stuffed animals to identify anatomical locations, bandaging labs, placing muzzles, etc.
The students name the animals and it really seems to help them remember the terminology in a fun way!
Heather, I like that your "models" are given names by the students. This further personalizes the lesson.

My class enjoys jeaopardy in studying the lesson plans. It creates a fun environment and it is very competitive. The winning group get additional bonus points to their over score. it is alot of fun.
