There are times when it is ok for a student not to understand the goal of the game. This is when accidental learning comes through! They accidentally learn the concept.

HI Shelly, there are a number of methods of reducing stress for students and making them feel relaxed but whenever games are employed caution must be utilized to insure the relevance of the games. Some students take the learning in on line courses very seriously and if they do not see the relevance of the game they will not be happy about what they perceive as wasted time and effort. How do we insure that the student understands the learning goal of the game?

There are times we simply need to feel relaxed. Playing games is not for everyone, but it does give us a feeling of "thank goodness I am not rushed today".
