Letting students know what they will be assessed on in an interview is nurturing. When we are teahing students how to interview and land a job, we should not be throwing them into the shark atnak blind for the actual expereince. We give the students the same questions that our business partners will have on their mock interview day. Students develop more skills by the preperation than they do by landing the passing score on the assessment.

Effective  instructional practices that are consistent with the nurturing model are prohect based learning opportunities where students receive opportunities to engage in relationship building in teamwork to complete tasks, and providing rubrics where team members can access themselves and their team members as well as receive feedback from the instructor.

Some effective instructional practices that are consistent with a nurturing model include providing ongoing feedback to students on projects and real world experiences that includes both positive and negative, but also a sense of what the expectations are.

Project based and work based learning expereinces that allow students to engage with one another and with co-workers to complete tass and solve problems.

Simulating real life work experiences, as well as lab performance tasks are great ways to nurture student behaviors and give real time feedback through the process.

Build strong relationships and positive classroom environments to engage learners in a safe space to learn.
