This module was very informative. Knowing the terminology will be a big help going forward.
Hello,
This program has given me the idea to keep a resource notebook with up to date information that I can rely on to help answer prospective and existing students' questions.
This module taught me the importance of knowing Florida’s education rules and my institution’s policies. Staying informed helps me give accurate information to prospective students.
I’ll apply this by keeping a well-organized Resource Notebook with key documents like statutes, enrollment agreements, and marketing materials. I’ll also stay updated through training and meetings, ensuring I can effectively guide students in making informed decisions.
I have learned about the importance of being an effective Admissions Agent by understanding the rules and regulations. Also I have learned about creating a Resource Notebook and how it will assist me thru this process. I also need annual trainings and be aware of any changes to rules.
In the first module of the FAPSC Admissions training, I learned about the importance of the admissions team in student recruitment and retention. The course emphasized the need to provide clear information about programs and follow best practices. It also highlighted the importance of complying with Florida regulations and following structured training to ensure quality service.
It is very useful to create a Notebook with all the information needed to be an aware and informed admissions Agent. It is possible (and it is suggested) adding information to it on a regular basis.
I learned that an admissions employee cannot offer bonuses, discounts, or similar thing to induce an applicant to enroll.
A new term form is Enrollment Agreement, this is a kind of contract which contains the agreement to terms of enrollment.
I have learned important things related with Admissions role. First of all, this is a role based on statutes, rules, and regulations that are subject to change. It is important to update the reference materials and/or resource notebook.
Second, I didn't know that the Agent license is effective for one year and is not transferable. For this reason, the Agent license must be renewed each year. I already know that I have to renew my license next 2026.
I have acquired knowledge about the guidelines and policies of admitting prospective students. In addition, becoming familiar with the importance of having the know-how to do the job efficiently.
I learned that it's important to keep students' files organized and neat, I also learned the importance of having a great understanding of school admission requirements.
I've learned many things since starting this course, my biggest take-away so far is the different terms that is important to know in our job. For example, the Title IV, Medical Clinical Clerkship, Enrollment agreement and many more. I also learned the importance of the rules that an agent must follow to ensure they don't get their licensed revoked.
I learned that admissions staff at licensed institutions have to complete training, pass background checks, and follow strict guidelines around handling money and advertising. Institutions also need to stay transparent with their programs and fees. Ongoing training is important to keep staff updated on the best practices.
