Application Process

Which application process does your school use? Why?

My school uses the online option to complete the FAFSA. The online option is easier and faster.

Jeffrey,

I agree the online option is easier and faster; however, there may be some students who struggle with the process. As long as you have a mechanism for those students to receive assistance when needed the online process is a great method to use.

Sincerely,

Chyrl Ayers

We use the online process and our students really like the IRS data retrieval tool. Many potential students struggle to estimate their income and the tool makes the application process more streamlined with less chance of errors.

Bryan,

Great feedback. Based on my review of ISIR this year it appears more and more students are completing FOTW and utilizing the IRS Data Retrieval. If successful this limits the requirements for collection of additional documentation in several of the verification categories.

Sincerely,

Chyrl Ayers

In our school we use FAFSA online and recommend students to complete it on their own as well. FAFSA online is a faster method to recieve your results.

Solanch,

I think the FAFSA on the web is a great process as long as your students and parents are comfortable with the process. Do you utilize any other methods for students or parents that are not 100% comfortable with performing this process online?

Sincerely,

Chyrl Ayers

Here we use the online process and our students really like the IRS data retrieval tool.In the system we have the correction and all the documentation the we might need we just have on the student file.

Maria,

The FAFSA on the Web (FOTW) process is a great online process for your students and performing corrections through FA Access may reduce wait times. I agree the IRS data retrieval tool is an excellent way to retrieve the IRS informatin for students and parents that qualify.

Sincerely,

Chyrl Ayers

My school us online Fafsa to process Title IV and to Certified any Grants and Stafford loans we use Fame.

Ricardo,

Based on your answer to the Application Process Discussion Question, I am going to assume your current processes meet the needs of your institution and students. It is important that your processes are successful for you and your students.

Sincerely,

Chyrl Ayers

Our school uses the FAFSA online. It is faster and the IRS Data retrieval tool is a wonderful addition.

Frances,

I continue to hear positive feedback on the FOTW processand the new IRS DRT. Great to know it is a benefit to you and your students.

Sincerely,

Chyrl Ayers

We use the online application process. This process is very user friendly. It is really nice that students can retrieve there tax information and download it from the IRS to the Fafsa application.

Afton,

I agree this was a great addition to the process of FOTW. I looked forward to the additional improvements as we move into upcoming award years. It is good to see that students and parents are using this process.

Sincerely,

Chyrl Ayers

Our Campus uses FOTW for processing. We have went 100% paperless. We have a Finance Planner available to assist students (and Parents) with any questions on issues they may have while completing the process. The IRS data retreival tool is a great benefit to the students that don't have a copy of their tax return readily available while completing the FAFSA, and ensures accuracy of the income.

We use the online FAFSa at our school is is easier and we utilize the IRS link.

All our students use FAFSA on the web. When students are selected for verification, and some correction has to be done, then we use FA Access to make them.

Sergio,

That is a good process to follow and it allows the student to control the process and inquire for assistance when necessary. Do most of your students complete this process without assistance?

Sincerely,

Chyrl Ayers

No. We assist each and everyone. This assures no mistakes are made.
