What type of program are you looking for? If you want a full program with a complete alumni website, advisory board, events, etc. it might require a half to full time person. If you plan to begin with a low scale program by prioritizing what is REALLY important for you to accomplish to start, you may only need a few hours a week.What are you looking for?

A few hours a month should do it. this is to satify compliance. I sure the Alumni is just going to be a wonderful addition to our lovely campus. I'm sure I will be able to recruit many graduates and others from the community to participate. I already have a successful Educational Advisory Board with many happy members. This course was helpful. It outlined the many benefits of an alumni asso. Thank you so very much for your help!!!!! thank you for the feedback as well. What a wonderful difference this will make at our awesome campus. I will recuit alumni, alumna, alumnus. alum.....great term learned during your wonderful session. Maybe, I will even start a student participation association....another wonderul leaning experience from this course. I have learned so much.
At a bare minimum 24 hours a month will be required to successfully maintain an Alumi Association.

The monthly hours would not necessarily all come from the same staff member, especially if every department is a stakeholder.

This is true. I guess the question might be - who will be the point person to keep those busy staff members engaged and on tasks for your graduates?

You, are right you need a group of people putting many man hours at least 30 hours a week.

This is true for a large,full-scale alumni association for a large institution with multiple campuses. We have 13 campuses and I am the only person in the alumni department working about 20-25 hrs a week out of our corporate office. If you can get other departments to offer their support, much can be accomplished with minimal hours.
