When life gives you lemons...

Yes, I can still taste lemons after reading the visualization exercise! I love this strategy and see the need to incorporate it more in the classroom. This is a great starting point.

Another way to do this is to let them pretend they are going to preschool for the first time and what they imagine a child is going thru. When it is over, ask them if they believe a new college student probably go thru the same thing. The only difference is that with a preschool child we would prepare them. We have to do the same with the college student.

One of the theories I teach is the internal combustion process. I use the visualization exercise to do it. I make them imagine that the whole room is the chamber and take them step by step through the process. This seems to work very well.

Great strategy, Michael. Try to look for ways to get them up and moving during the process. It will really help your kinesthetic learners.
