<p>The key takeaways I got from this lesson is that adult learners bring unique approaches for their learning. Adult learners have previous experiences that they can share in the learning environment and requires a high degree of influence in the classroom. While all students have their own challenges, adult learners also have unique set of challenges in an academic setting. Challenges such as being responsible of a family or needing to earn an income while trying to learn can impact retention. Ways that academic institutions can help retain adult learners is to not only help them academically but also be empathetic to their personal situation as well.&#160;</p>
