Improving the process
I enjoy the online enviroment very much and feel humbled that there are so many people across our country who have set a goal to improve themselves through such a great opportunity which was not afforded us baby boomers. I have a niece who has just completed her Masters and could not have done this had she not had the online instructors to assist her. I now feel that I am better prepared to maximise my communications with my students and I am so pleased that I too have the ability to continue my learning through these types of course. I would enjoy hearing from my peers to have avenues which have readily assisted them with this process, I value learning from the simple and effective tools that have been successful.
Online is 24/7 and it has an intrinsic value for me because of the environment and time constraints.
Online helps my learning because of the quiet focusing time. I cannot not focus in a classroom when students are asking irrelavent questions. As an instructor, I make sure the environment stays focused in the classroom.
Cyndy, what a joy to hear you speak of the difference between Baby Boomers education and the current Online education offered to our children and grandchildren. I love that this new tool will offer so many educational courses around the world. What a great opportunity if we remember that integrity starts in education.
I agree I learned so much to share with my instructors.
I prefer being able to do training online, as it is at my own pace. I get bored a lot of times whenever I am a student in a traditional class because it moves too slowly.
I also have a hectic schedule and this is nice because it gives me access to the material whenever it is convenient for me!
I am a online student and a Instructor. I love the online but miss the interpersonal communication lost from not sitting in a live class. I feel that people lose alot of socialization when they close themselves off.
The simple was so effective. Online is a great way for the hussle of life today. Everyone lives by a clock and can not make class times, I worry about so much interpersonal communication being lost in that setting but I guess the world must change and us with it, I use alot of digital media in my classes and challange my kids to use new programs and create presentations they can share in class and be very proud of. This helps them get ready for the computor world and not be afraid to try something new. It is a challange for me as well but I really like when I can get it right. I think I get more excited than them........
