course 116

I have learned that discipline, judgments, critical thinking, logic, common sense, and problem solving is very important to students. I totally agree that critical thinking is self directed, self discplined, self monitored, self corrective thiking. I also agree that judgment is developed thorugh extensive experience.

I completely agree with you.

Critical thinking lets us arrive to a better solution to most of the problems facing us in the classroom, at work, or in the privacy of our home.  Experience also counts to a great extent because of the fact that we have to relate practical with theoretical knowledge.

I will take the opportunity in the future to apply a number of methods we covered and implement a few of my ideas to futher the students ability to be a critical thinker.

I agree with, Alfonso. Experience does count and has a big impact on knowledge buliding and helping with

critical thinking. I am so thankful that what I have learned and still learning can help the next person out.

My students do not know, but their experiences help me! Just keep living

the student experiences help to keep the class interesting too.

Critical thinking is lacking in the primary school education style.  In college beginning students have difficulty with any activity that employes critical thinking skill.  Most of my student cannot solve problems, they want you to hold their hand and to just be able to fill in the blanks.  I have had good results with some by not directly answering their question with the needed information, but asking questions that make them think and look for the answers themselves.

I will try to employ more of wht I learned here to lead students to develop their critical thinking skills.

I truly agree

I agree with Donald that critical thinking seems to be a difficult task for students entering college.  Students do seem to need a lot of instructions.

Teaching the students the importance of interacting in the classroom has given them more confidence in themselves to be more professional when dealing with clients.

Discipline, judgments, critical thinking, logic, common sense, and problem solving are things we learn from our own experience in this life and we should pass it on to the new generation eventhough they should learn from their own experience.

I am always amazed at what knowledge and experiences my on-line students bring to our classes. I work hard to develop a sense of community among classmates, encouraging them to interact and to work together. I liked the idea of students answering each others' questions. Mine usually start that by the middle of our course and it stimulates great discussions.
