Learned a Lot of Good Info, but Most of It will never be used

Hi all! This course contained a lot of information that I was not privy to. After completing the couse, I feel well informed about federal and state regulations and guidelines, as well as certain policies and requirements and no-nos that I was unaware of. However, as an English Instructor, I didn't completely understand why I had to take such an in-depth course. The information that I learned seemed geared towared the administration department and the financial aid department. I felt that a mandatory faculty meeting that covered these points would have sufficed. Yet and still, it was a lot of information that I learned and now, when I see something being done incorrectly, I'll know that it is wrong.

As an instructor this information didn't pertain to my specific job, however it did give me information that helps me understand the legality of some of my schools practices that affect accredidation, and student retention. I also feel I understand the aspects of my institution that I normally wouldn't have had to learn. Im glad I did it!

As an adjunct instructor, I didn't see the relevance of a lot of this information.  While the FERPA information and overviews may be helpful, I will rarely if ever use any of the other information I got from this.  It's good to understand how much the school has to deal with, but that was REALLY in depth to require of all employees.
