I found the course material very relevant to challenges that we face trying to maintain high levels of student retention.  I found the portion devoted to a student's feeling of security in the classroom environment to be particularly useful.  I have implemented a policy of arranging more one on one time with my students to review their progress and challenges in order to make them more aware of my committment to their success.

That is absolutely great! Evaluating students' progress in a constructive manner not only helps them keep a track of their own success and identify the things they need to improve to become more successful, but also it allows the instructors to recognize how to maintain student retention.

I agree some of the challenges we face make it difficult to fit in motivational techniques but this course explained very simple methods that may be able to improve students motivation and therefore also help with retention.

This course like all of them not sure what to expect but then the material is so well written, relevant & useful. Motivation can be a challenge any day of the week, but I too use more one on one time with students to review their progress and try to make them more aware of their self perception.
