I find that if I let my guard down they take over. Because that I am a Veteran I am often referred to as Sarge, which doesn't bother me. I can be strict, such as they must hang up their coats, I allow no cell phone usage, they cannot talk when I'm talking and so on.

I am always referring to the classroom as the work place. They cannot ware coats, use cell phones or talk above the Doctor in the office. Learning how to act as a medical professional is as important as the theroy and skills.

 The students are so used to getting what they want and believe that all teachers "give" grades, that they don't understand that they need to earn them.
