I learned something new
I learned a lot of information on how to handle my students. It motivated me more.
I am anticipating taking a few more courses. I agree. The information wasexcellent. I took EL107. It presented was to better communicate with the students, how to ecaluate each students needs as well as to be open to new ideas for the instructor as well as the student.
What I found challenging about EL107 is that being a "Baby Boomer" I am learning much of this new tech myself, which is hard to transfer into the classroom, expecially if you feel ill prepared to demonstrate what the new tech can do or how to use it yourself. I personally do not even own an "I Phone" or Tablet, much less know how to use them. Additionally, I do not have the resources to purchase these types of technology. However, I am aware and do understand the differing learning styles, and abilities of my students. I am always accessable to them and try to make my classes enjoyable by incorporating real world examples and scenarios, broadening discussion topics for more reflection, posting informational links regarding the weekly topic to discuss, and holding live chats to go over any questions or concerns etc. I have always had students tell me they have enjoyed my courses and hope they have me as an instructor in the future. I have even had many, many previous students reach out to me well after graduation to tell me how much I influenced their life, so I guess I am doing something right! ;)
