I just reached a point in my compliance training that gives "State Nursing Boards" as examples of programmatic accreditation.  My understanding is these are not accreditors.  Programmatic accreditors would be organizations such as Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education or Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing.  A nursing program in a particular state must be a board-approved program for that state in order to operate, but may not be programmatically accredited.
