Repetition
I utilize repetition in my instruction. If I review it over and over I am hoping to move the required information from short term memory into long term memory.
I agree, it takes alot of repetition to learn a topic
I also agree. From day one in my class, I give a full overview of hydraulics and after that day I break the system down little by little. I always refer back to the day before or their labs and expand on it. Hoping that they will catch on to the way the system flows. On what makes flow and how pressure is created. I try to compare hydraulics to air and electronics, hoping they can refer back into their past classes to collect the correlated data between them.
As a nursing instructor has been a challenge use time and bring proper and accurate information. This is an acelerated program 15 months. In class we really has to "going straight to the point" , we are just a facilitator. Train students to be tested, teach them hot nuri=sing topics and them evaluate their clinicals skills. I loved what i do. We use differents ways to bring the information; breaking down concepts on the board, maping concepts, students love it , use videos and always bring practical scenarios , real life situation to the classroom. This is how we promote retention and motivation on our students.
