I know this will not be popular, but I have taught long enough to know that some students (as instructors) do not have the skills and never will to be in the classroom.

Carl,

Can you further elaborate on your idea?  What skills are necessary to be in the classroom?  What skills do some students not possess?  Can you be more specific in this thought and explain?

Thanks.

They need to be able to read and write....this is college, I am not  here to teach them what they should have learned in high school....it holds others back.  Some people just don't need to be in the classroom.

I understand, my school went through a time period where students that never graduated high school and lacked basic skills(reading/writting) were coming into the classroom.  It was an issue and we had to change entrance testing to ensure that these students were filtered out.
