Retake

HE 106C

This information is important to ensure all students and staff are safe.

Transparency

Transparency is important and essential.

HE 106C

FERPA and student privacy is essential today. Keeping this information safe is the key to student privacy so the information is not shared.

Emergency Communications

The Emergency Communication topic was very informative to me , and is necessary due to recent inclement weather  experiences   that we all have been experiencing , We can reach students and instructors in the event we need to for an emergency situation, through electronic devices , emails or phones to support any emergency situations on campus or in the clinical settings. This was a very informative presentation.  Does anyone have any add on's  to this presentation?  I am very glad about this eye opener and refresher for this topic.

Thanks , Gwen.

Access to student info

FERPA has strict and clear guidelines about student information sharing. The dos and donts are very cleary written and includes foreign students also.

FERPA

I always think of FERPA as students rights like HIPAA is patient rights for privacy. Try to take a minute how not to violate that trust.

Admissions Training

Having worked alongside Admissions for many years, I have learned the importance of a resource notebook from the training. It is the tool that admission reps will utilize everyday.

More in depth understanding of FERPA

As a parent of a college age child, I appreciate this training. I understand my rights as a parent more, along with the right that the student themselves have. Tuition is expensive so I would like for him to continue to allow me full disclosure on some things.

Ferpa/Jeanne Clery Act

Ferpa is always interesting to read about disclosure of students records; including who can review the student record, and what are the circumstances that would warrant it. I heard about the Jeanne Clery Act, but never knew it was was adopted into law based on a true story, interesting......

Compliance

Being in compliance, and knowing whats involved will also elimate headaches, and waiting til the last minute to get everything done in order to be in compiance. To be incompliance intentionally means you are doing what is required.

Ferpa

Do all campuses follow the same rules in different sates or is this just for California?

FERPA

It is crucial that all faculty and staff understand students' rights and protections under FERPA.

FERPA

Great topic FERPA protects the privacy student's education and records.

FERPA

I thought this training and quiz was fine.

FERPA

I found this course to be very informative. FERPA is a rather interesting topic and this course clearly outlines what are we can and cannot do. I can see how this is an important topic in today’s world.

Why should we all be informed via cell phone or other medium?

Being informed early allow for a quick response whether it is a disaster or emergency situations. We all can benefit if advance warning are in place. There are many incidents that student are in jeopardy of injuries on danger where the benefit of knowledge can prevent tragic outcomes.  Early warning are strategic in reducing negative outcomes.

HE106C

I found this information interesting and important to understand, as I have lots of PSEO students in my classrooms. I am wondering if anyone has had any issues with parents of PSEO students? Also, I have had parents of adult (older than 18) call much more in the past few years than ever before. Have you seen an increase in this "helicopter" parenting style with students?
