I've learned more about the importance of creating a good leadership leagacy statement that reflects who I am as a leader.  I have a better understanding of the challenges faced by higher education in today's world after taking this course.

I've learned the importance of considering all three elements of successful leadership and how they interact to achieve a goal.

A good leader needs to be able to build and lead teams using the important principles taught in this course.  I have learned different methods for team collaboration and management which I will use in future team meetings.

I have learned some of the warning signs of people in a crisis state of mind.  This vauable information can be used to identify potential crisis situations in the classroom and as an administrator overseeing a critical situation.  The information is important for knowing how best to respond in a critical situation.

Leadership involves the ability to work with staff, faculty, and students to reach the organization's goals successfully.

I learned a lot about myself and my leadership styles.  I actually have a style that contains components of more than one style.  This class was very informative and gave me a lot to think about.

I have learned that both leaders and managers are essential to the functioning of an organiztion.  While I currently serve in both roles, I am much more a leader.  I truly enjoy inspiring and motivating my team members to achieve a goal.

The lesson has taught me some of the major differnces between leaders and managers.  Leaders focus on people by building relationships, helping them and an organization to grow and to reach goals.  Managers are more conerned with building systems and processes necessary to achieve goals and in so doing make processes more effective.

Low risk active learning strategies are great for science lab exercises.  The activities can be alternated with brief periods of instruction and allow the students to make the connections.  Active learning activites encourage students to work together and of course to learn together.

I'm hoping to add more active learning startaegies to my courses.  Students get more excited about thir learning when they are actively involved in activities and working with their classmates.
