I learned that a pause of 20 seconds where you stand to the side of the classroom or laboratory and observe the students can be very useful and successful within the classroom dynamic. This would help me make any needed adjustments to keep the students engaged in the learning process.

I should do multiple mini lectures instead of one long lecture as I will grab the students attention and ability to remember more.

I learned the importance of teaching students how to study as some may be older and first time back in class in a while. I will implement this as part of my first day orientation.

A checklist is vital to teaching as it will ensure the instructor is comfortable that you have covered all of the critical items for that day.

As an instructor we have to be open to make changes, learn from our mistakes, and learn new teaching strategies to keep down student  retention.
