In today's times of texting and social media, making sure that you set the standards for communication is very important.  I will definitely be including a Communication Code of Conduct to my syllabus.

There are so many different forms of communication tools available for online classes.  It is so very important to make sure that the students have access to whatever form you chose.  In making your selection, you must investigate each tool and their functions to assure it meets your needs.  These tools need to be evaluated throughout the course and at the end.

I need to work more on my engaging students.  I will utilize the techniques to promote interactions that was provided in this course.

After learning about the advantages and disadvantage of synchronous and asynchronous learning, I believe I will set my online classes as asynchronous.  It is too hard to establish times for students to get together at the same time with all of the outside factors being considered.

There are so many technology tools available for teaching and learning, but before they are useful, they must be evaluated for the intended purpose.  The instructor's teaching style is also an important factor in determining the type of tool they need.

I learned that I must do course revisions periodically.  I must use multiple sources of data, appropriate sources of data, multiple evaluation methods, and I must integrate both quantitative and qualitative data to close the loop.

The importance of understanding Bloom's Revised Taxonomy and how it fits into learning. The importance of rubrics for student understanding of objectives and criteria of an assignment.  I will start adding the self-assessment/peer assissment column on the rubrics.

I will need to adjust the way my syllabus is online.  It needs to be more dynamic.  I need to become more familiar with the different communcation tools so I can use them effectively.  I realize how important scaffolding in learning is.  Without doing the 8 tasks, the scaffolded learning can be more destroying than helpful.

I will definitely make sure now that my modules are consistant in size, layout, etc.  I had never really thought about the importance of that before, but now it makes sense.  I love the idea of the learning object database, but I will have lessons that can use the same learning objects.

I now understand the importance of keeping documentation of all communication I have with my students.  I also understand how easy it will be to set up a method of filing the different documents I receive from students.
