I learned strategies to keep students engaged includes acknowledging each student, giving the class a moment to settle before beginning lecture, giving breaks between content to ensure the attention span is considered, incorporating lighthearted moments into lecture.
I learned that it is important to consider differences in age and backgrounds. I learned the importance of being understanding of extrinsic situations while maintaining academic and professional expectations.
Various teaching styles can be used depending on external factors such as, class size, advancement level, material being covered, ect. It is important to consider attention span.
I have learned that greeting students at the door and memorizing names quickly is important. I intend to use ice breakers to get to know my students.
