There are a few laws that can supercede FERPA, such as The USA Patriot Act. The E-sign Act and Information Security protects all information that is acquired electronically.

FERPA guarantees student information protection until graduation. Schools should be compliant of FERPA regulations.

School must be really careful when they are releasing students information. Some information needs a written consent or student permission, unless it is needed by court or law enforcement.

FERPA protects students personal information and educational records. It also gives students and parents the right to access school records as well as amend information if there are any discrepancies.

FERPA is applicable to both K-12 and higher education. FERPA is a law that privides students access to their student records and it maintains the privacy for educational records.

Students and parents also have the right to amend their educational records and complaints must be filed withing 180 days from the incident.

Follow Up with all inquiries. Be clear, concise, creative and deliver message with confidence. Share the responsibility with your prospect when it comes to follow up.

Objections from prospective students should be welcome as this is an indication of trust.  Use the techniques to address the objections. Be transparent about the cost of tuition and highlight the value of the program and return in investment to their future. Don't take "no shows" personally. things do come up, just contact them again and reschedule.

Prospective students really want someone to listen to them, hear what they are looking for and accommodate them in a way that doesn't take so much of their time. Trust is huge to prospects. Connections must be tailored depending on who you are talking to.
