Although our staff gets along famously....there are some silo issues and tendancies to avoid collaboration. To some degree this stems from housing 10 very different programs under the same roof, but we should take some strides to continue improved a culture of shared norms. This is particularly true for things like porfessional skill development of our students.

At our school we need to continue to seek work-based learning opportunities across al program areas. For some of our programs, relevent instructional goals need to be in place that put a focus on career readiness rather than just traditional academic goals.

Our focus on work-based learning opportunities, work-place simulations, and CTSO particpation lend great relevence to the work we do with our students. We need to keep succeeding in these areas because they provide real-life learning expereinces that are engaging and meaningful to students.

At our school we have started by building a culture of collaboartion first. We share PD expereinces whenever it is appropriate and we get togther for shared staff parties and celebrations. Being togther helps teachers work togther.

We currently do an excellent job with school culture and stretch learning in general. Our teachers and staff truly like eachother and enjoy interactions inside and outside of the classroom. We probably need to do a better job of using data schoolwide. Currently we use data fairly well within indiviudual program pathways, however, data pictures for the entire school would help us develop a better understanding of our progress toward developing more well-rounded students with better soft skill development.

Research indicates that student partiipcation in CTE coursework has a direct impact on some of the most traditional student perfromance indicators. CTE particpation increases student attendance, graduation rates, and in many cases overall assessment scores. Perhaps more imporatant than these fundamental metrics, particpation in CTE coursework allows students the opportunity to apply academic skills across a variety of real life industries a ways that are simply more relevent than what the traditional classroom environment can offer.
