Both synchronous and asynchronous communication is needed in distant education.

I learned that when I interview for new hire, I should take  adeeper look at added qualification. State, institutional policies are important.

I will try to use a slow pace when I talk with more pauses to attracy attention.

Also, I would avoid lecturing when I notice a sign such as boredom from the audiences.

I have not used rubric. I tried once using it to score discussion boards but I found it confusing. 
I have to reconsider scoring by rubric. 
Any experience that could help me in this regard?

I learned that age could be defined as a range of how technology is being used by the students. This will matter in using a different approach when communicating with the students.

Recommendations for contact or Communication Codes of Conduct support the students to recognize the existing communication rules and the likely consequences for not following them. The value of setting rules, anticipations, and boundaries is countless. As an instructor, I know things that are obvious to me may be new to the students and I should go over online etiquette and expectations.

The course delivers valuable information on student retention.

The factors that plays a crucial role in attrition were presented. Knowing the students' name and their background from the first session, showing enthusiasm and clarity are the strategies that I will apply more often after this course.
