I learned the seven principles of good practice include, encourage contact between students and instructor. One of the things that stuck out to me was providing prompt feedback. I think this is important to a students success. 

It's important we don't just assume a student level of technology competences. Asynchronous allows student to log in when needed and complete their needed tasks 

It's important we are clear professional and apprpriate with our students in our communication. We also need to convery the importance of being part a good online citizen, and how we each contribute to that.

Making sure students know about plagiarism and what is or is not plagiarism.  Communication must be clear professional and appropriate. 

 

 

It's important for student to understand the time commitment of an online course and also to see if they are a good fit for online courses. For some students need the accountbaility of being with peers and their professor. This also touched on the need for accomidations for students who may need addtional time or need aditory assistance. 

Learning about how to motivate our students is important, finding out if they intrinsic and extrinsically motivated. We can use this information to help our student to reach their goals. 

There are two types of motivation, intrinsic and extrinsic. 

Adult learners are doers and thinkers, It's important to remember our adult learner need different things. This module helped us learn more about the concepts of security and autonomy for our leaners. 

 

Looking at the mystery shopper outcomes it was interesting to learn areas of improvement. I think one of the big take away is making sure when assisting our students they have our full attention, no answering other calls, letting student know they are the priority in that moment. 

When customers have a bad experience they tell about 20 people when they have a good experience they tell about 10. We have an opportunity with every interaction to provide first class customer service. The university name counts on it.
