Activity

Gina, Thank you for posting. Will you clarify what you mean by consistency? How will you improve it? Dr. Jean Norris
Mirenia, Interesting! Keep in mind, the communication hierarchy comes from the world of marriage counseling and is not designed for you to reach the bond level with your students (That is the deepest level of rapport). This means you really are not fully bonding with them in the way it is meant for the hierarchy. Knowing that, what do you think is your biggest challenge with the hierarchy? Dr. Jean Norris
Sadie, This is a great insight. What do you think is the important of getting to know someone/learn more about them before you start sharing your opinion on what program you think is best for them? Dr. Jean Norris
Sylvia, Excellent! Keep up the good work. Do you find that your students, and those with them, have better rapport with you? Dr. Jean Norris
Elyse, Great awareness! It's so important to take a minute and "reset" our minds and attitudes to make sure we are giving each student the customer service they deserve. Thank you for posting! Dr. Jean Norris

So it's come to the point that the job of admissions must evolve to stay relevant. No longer do students need or desire a phone call to schedule an appointment.  They're not showing up anyway.  In fact....68% of qualified inquiries won't even show up at your campus.  Today's student can get all the info they need from the Internet.  So now what?

Scott, These are great questions for getting to know a prospective student. Thank you for posting! Dr. Jean Norris
Veronica, You're absolutely right that open questions allow you to discover the most information. When is an appropriate time to use a closed question? Dr. Jean Norris
