Prompt tailored feedback is essential for students to improve on future work.

I learned the importance of utilizing all learning elements in the online course in order to develop students' learning scaffolds.

When developing curricula it is important to maintain a consistent format so that students know what to expect from each module and section.

I learned some techniques for managing difficult students.

I will defintelly use multiple strategies to engage students and appreciated the guidance on best practices for synchronous and asynchronous meetings.

I find student's stories and backgrounds interesting and so I naturally gravitate to wanting to hear about their lives.  I try to ask about specifics in later discussions so each student knows that I read their bio and that I'm invested in their success in the class.

I think it is essential to view the course from the student's perspective and will utilize the 'student view' function in the CMS more often.

My biggest take away is investigating each students motivation for taking the course.  I have seen many students on the spectrum from fully engaged to apathetic, and had not really considered that this is the underlying reason.  I think it is important to ask each student their goal and reason for enrolling, and reminding them of this if they become discouraged.
