Module or sections work best
The value in accommodations.
Fair use and TEACH act are for non-profit institutions only.
Review of copyright law, exceptions, and how to reference work sources.
The importance of recognizing the pitfalls students should avoid. As a teacher, I think I will better inform students how many hours outside of the classroom are expected.
The value of social media. It was not a tool when I was a student but current students are familiar with social networking sites. Using social networking sites can allow students to use existing skills and adapt to the environment quickly. As a teacher, I need to adapt to allow students the greatest potential success.
The emphasis on community. Student success is greater if students have a community to share prior experiences.
Time management is key. Students' needs vary. This module reinforced that there are procedures in place to help students with disabilities.
The use of rubrics for communication. The need to refrain from posting immediate answers to the discussion boards and stating immediately if something is right or wrong but share ideas and opinions.
Various types of students need to function in an online learning environment. The environment should be open and friendly fostering a learning situation where students can participate, use technology, and communicate effectively.
