Remember that students not only learn in different ways, they also have strengths and weaknesses when it comes to learning while using technology.

Experiential learning or service learning can deeply engage students while giving them a chance to use their new learnings in real-life (in their job or personal life). This builds a connection between the classroom and what the student experiences and does outside the classroom.

Encourage the students to provide in-depth feedback (good and bad) about the course. The students can often identify parts of the course that were exceptionally useful or well delivered as opposed to those that were not. Then, the instructor can adjust and improve accordingly.

I learned about the comparison between what can be delivered during a traditional in-person class as opposed to a distance learning class. Surprisingly - almost everything that can be done in-person can also happen during online learning!

This article provides clear, actionable tips for writing brief, clear memos for use by an executive audience.

I can now appreciate how, for many learners, an online (or correspondence) course can provide an enhanced learning experience with better learning retention compared to a traditional in-person course. This amazing result is possible because an online course can provide and integrate a variety of methods to engage the student - video, audio, chat, discussion boards, knowledge checks, and so on. By varying the way that content is delivered and discussed, the instructor--through an online course--can reach the varied learning styles of students.
