Institutions, instructors, and students need to be proactive in getting copyright clearance when using outside sources.

In order to make a course accessible, it is recommended the instructor be proactive and plan ahead instead of retrofitting the content.

I learned that wikis and chats are not recommended for students with disabilities. Text boxes are not recommended for students with disabilities.

This caught my eye: "By law, instructors and post-secondary administrators cannot speak to parents about their children’s progress, intent, course loads, counseling services, mental health, grades, medical conditions, or disabilities as they did in the K-12 environment." This seems counterintuitive.

Students may have hidden disabilities that are not physical. I like the approach of developing multiple means for presenting information, means of expression and practice of knowledge and skills, and strategies for engaging learners.

Formative assessments lend themselves to gaming activities since they offer playing them multiple times without stress.

There are many types of gaming approaches to creating games for learning.  They can be collaborative, designed by students, and more structured games to address gaps in learning and or training.

What I found useful is a rubric for games and simulations. It serves as guidelines for the effective creation of this type of learning assets.

I am very interested in simulations as they are applicable to real-life situations. As an ID I can help faculty in creating these games instead of them having to be hands-on in the development of the game.
