Active learning
Active learning in the classroom is always a great tool. It allows students to engage themselves critically and analytically. Working all aspects of their brain. It also gives them the oportunity to utilize the various resources available to engage each other, the teacher, and to share in discovering useful information together.
I agree with this post!! Engaging the student with an active learning approach, allows the student to grow in there own right at there own pace. By the student understanding the various resources available the student will be able to help the teacher better understand how approach each individual student.

Using visual examples going out to the lab and getting their hands on components and putting names to actual items puts visual pictures in their memories and then covering coursr material provides better understanding and invokes questions
We recently presented a workshop on basic punctuation and grammar skills for a Communications class. After verbally presenting the information, we gave the students a research paper throughout which we had intentionally made errors. After the students proofed the paper, we gave them the corrected version of the paper, and we discussed the errors. I thought it was interesting that although most of the students found the initial punctuation review to be a bit elementary, it really hit home when they had to actually identify and correct the errors. Some worked in groups. All questions were encouraged and the discussion topics that followed really seemed to help.
Hi Victoria,
Great exercise to enforce grammar skills. It is amazing to me to see how poor students are with their grammar skills at the collegian level.
