Taking the time to plan and prepare for class

If you take time to plan and prepare for a class, you don't feel rushed. I usually take a week or more to prepare and plan for a class. This allows me to be more creative and think of new ways to motivate the class. Even if I have taught the class before, I still try to think of new techniques to try.

My procedure for preparing for class is as follows.
1.Arrive and see that the class board is wiped clean and the general appearace of the classroom is clean. I arrive 15 minutes early always.
2.Go to the library obtain the remote for my visuals for the day which is my Power Point. Making sure I bring my flash drive.
3. Put on the desk my books and the chapters we will be discussing and checking my lesson plan.
4.Greeting each student with a hello and be sure to know each one's name.
5. Start on time.

You folks both seem to have a lot of time to prepare for each class. i make my lesson plans in advance and then, before each class, I review the specifics of what we'll be covering. Plus, if there is set-up necessary for the class, I arrive five or ten minutes early and may ask students to help.

Preparing for my class every morning I first come in and write my objectives on the board. Then I make sure that everything is working, projectors, computers, etc. I also make sure all copies are made and I hve evrything that I need for the lecture. Wheen I am prepared it just makes eveything flow.

I always arrive at least an hour before class even strats. This allows time for me to organize my class materials as well as be available for my students. I always have students come in early and I feel it is beneficial to be there to help them with why they came in eary to begin with.
