Can organization prior to the first class have a impact on the first impression
I think the more polished the presentation on the first day, sets the tone for the entire course. There is so much to cover the first day, with the syllabus,goals and objectives of the course, and campus policies, a practiced presentation is essential.
Organization in my book is key. Being more prepared for the situation always relieves my stress. I try to have all the odds and ends together, and the idea of a to-do list is a great idea.
I organize my lectures and classroom activities in advance of the first day. It seems to improve the level of comfort for the students and their willingness to open up on the first day of class.
Organization is very important on first day.
