lecture style
it is important that instructor will not stick to one method or style used in the lecture but in order tobring the students attention ,the instructor should change his styleusing different
style even in the same lecture.
I would agree with Khalid on this although I think it can be more difficult than what it sounds. I have found myself sometimes being in a "groove" and continuing on with a particular format or style not realizing I have been ineffective. One method that I have found to be effective is to lecture for a short period of time and then ask a question related to the material. It not only breaks up the time, but it also seems to be an effective way of determining on the spot if the students comprehend the material just covered.
I agree it is important to change your lecture style even if you are covering the same material. I look to do this by keeping up with current changes and trends in the field and my personal experince based on my privite pratice.
I agree asking a question is how I gauge my speed and wake up my class. It can open up a disscussion and get there gears moving, mine too.
