CLASS PARTICIPATION

I mostly enjoy the class participation. Student seem to voice out their opinion, answers and contribute to discussions. Class participation also gives me identify the students strength and weakness.

Class participation is important in the classroom because it gives the teacher a way to judge if the studrents are learning the material or not. I like to have class discussion on the materials to see if the students are actually reading the assignments and then if they are understanding it and grasping the concepts. This is a good way to see what I may need to focus on for reviews for the exams.

Hi Susan - I find that learning to facilitate discussions and questioning is usually a bit difficult for new instructors, but once they get comfortable with it , the results are so worthwhile! Best wishes for continued success in your teaching career. Susan

I agree that class participation gives the instructor a chance to identify the srudents strengths and weakness. At midpoint of class i take time and discuss my observations with students

I have a small amount of students and they all seem comfortable with one another. I do not have any problem with them participating together in project as a group.

Ditto! I engage in class participation in all the courses that I teach.

I also enjoy class participation.I have have hands on demos for students while in lecture as well as board presentations, that helps me cover all styles of learning while keeping everyone engaged.

I also enjoy class participation in the post conference portion of my clinical group. This allows me to identify what type of assignments I will utilize for my students.
