Redirecting Questions

I think a key point is to continually ask questions of the students. I like the idea of a student asking a question and having another student try to answer it.

I had a cardiovascular instructor who told us on the first day " I will not answer questions I will have other students answer the question. I assume because others are not asking the same question it is because they themselves already know the answer. I believe this did aid in our learning when trying to explain topics to our fellow students.

Redirecting questions will not only help the student who asked the question, but the student who is called on to answer the question. Also, more students will pay attention if they know they may be called on to answer questions.
