What to do with changes..

I am in a school where my classroom changes just about every 6 weeks. I am excited and frustrated what I am learning is that I can and will make each transistion new and exciting for the students as well as for myself. What can be done when the room has cosmetic disturbances?

Whiteboards? Filling whiteboards with drawings and notes in multiple colors. It helps with the peripheral learning.

The whiteboard idea is wonderful. You could also project scenes onto the screen, bring items to hang on the wall and of course play a little music.

James,

I really like the mix of the whiteboard & other technology.

I also work at a school that there is change every 6 week. We have new presentations every 6 weeks. So, I place the previous students work to promote interest and an sample of what there presentation board should look like.

I try to incorporate multi-learning sensory tools. I like to use drawings, pass around equipment, and tell short stories to make the theory or concept stick in the students mind. I feel like, if they can associate it with some real world experience, they retain it better.

laura,
these are all great strategies to engage the variety of learners in our classes.

I also work with the type of class that changes every 6 weeks. We have the students complete different projects. We have on display some of the projects continously. When students come into class they are able to see what others have done. This helps give them ideas of what to do.

Doris,
this is a great idea as it can inspire them, encourage them, & just plain help them with ideas.
