Do you think.....

Do you think teachers or students are more receptive to the flip classroom style?

Student are very resistent to this type of learning because it is a new concept. The students have share that they feel like they are teaching themselves but not understanding the benefts related to this type of learning

I agree with Monica, the students do complain that they are teaching themselves, but I feel that it allows the student to get more exposure to the concepts. It also facilitates good classroom discussion since it is not the first time that the students are encountering the content. It really encourages them to come to class better prepared.

In my experience teachers are definitely more receptive to flipping the classroom style. Instructors are able to grasp the entire course material and present it using several different methods. Students are more receptive to regular teaching methods because that is what they have grown up with, so they are more comfortable. Our institution has used flipping over several terms now and students still complain. However, there are some who have accepted it and like it.

Agreed. In fact, I get regular feedback from students on end of semester evaluations about any type of change that puts more responsibility in their hands. The good students "get it," and the mid-range students adjust and embrace it eventually.

I believe the students. It would seem as though the student has the opportunity to better understand the material offered.
