Going over the objectives, do you read the syllabus or do you have the students read it?
I have students to read over syllabus at home and write down any questions they may have concerning the syllabus. When we come to campus I will go over the syllabus first before presenting the subject matter to ensure everyone understand the course expectations, outcomes, grading system , attendance, etc.
